I’m Cody — owner, operator, and the guy who’ll actually show up at your vehicle. HL Service and Mechanics LLC is a Marine veteran-owned mobile mechanic serving the Siouxland tri-state — Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota. The idea is simple: bring honest, reliable repair straight to you, without the tow bill, the waiting room, or the runaround.

In the Corps I served as an 1171 Water Support Technician — which is a lot more than purifying water. I was responsible for keeping all the equipment running: the pumps, the systems, and the engine-driven gear that had to work no matter the conditions. When something broke in the field, there was no shop to tow it to and no one else to call — you diagnosed it, you fixed it, and you got it running again. That’s where I learned to troubleshoot for real.

The Marine Corps runs on standards, accountability, and getting the mission done no matter what it takes. I carry that same approach under the hood — show up when I say I will, diagnose it right instead of throwing parts at it, and stand behind the work. If something isn’t worth fixing, I’ll tell you. If it is, I’ll do it right.

Diagnostics are where I do my best work — the intermittent, “no-code,” nobody-can-figure-it-out problems that other shops give up on. Chasing down a fault on engine-driven equipment in the field teaches you to find the real cause once, instead of guessing and handing someone a bill for parts they didn’t need.
